For this album, Ian Scott, principal clarinetist of the Royal Ballet Sinfonia, and producer Malcolm McMillan have newly arranged 12 pieces from the original orchestral versions and combined them with the eight earlier pieces to create the most stunning suite ever recorded. The pieces that feature clarinets in the original works have been selected to create a disc that allows the listener to enjoy Prokofiev's works from a completely new angle, while making the most of the clarinet sound.
