Strauss’s orchestral works; this album is the second installment in the cycle, following *A Hero’s Life*.\nMaking full use of a massive orchestra, this duo presents a rich and profound interpretation of the “Alpine Symphony”—a grand musical spectacle depicting scenes of climbing up and descending from the Alps. The B-side features the composer’s late masterpiece, *Four Last Songs*.
