The album, a lush and elegant post-punk affair, garnered praise from The FADER, NME, and The Guardian, and catapulted them from quiet Brattleboro to stages across the United States and the United Kingdom. However, founding bassist Nathaniel van Osdol left the band. Meanwhile, longtime musical partners, new bassist Ally Juleen (she\/they) and guitarist\/keyboardist Shane Blank (he\/him), have relocated to rural Vermont to record a follow-up to their cult favorite album in a month! They uprooted their lives to join the band.'We were all getting together to make something new, to take a new step forward. We've all been making music for a while and have faced its harsher, less fun side,\" says Mars, and when Mars converted a barn in the woods into a recording studio the band calls a \"hobbit hole,\" they focused on one simple rule: \"If it's not fun, we don't do it.
