She studied under Chadwick at the New England Conservatory of Music and wrote many symphonies (already released on TROY 1295) and chamber music, etc. Her Violin Concerto No. 2, published in 1952, is written in a style reminiscent of Mendelssohn's music and Diliath's early works. The piano solo at the beginning of the concerto is a surprise (I thought it was a piano concerto, but I checked the printed description), and the nostalgic melody, which seems to be a Negro spiritual, is used in abundance, which makes it a great listening experience. Cockerham is a contemporary composer, although his birth year is not given.
