Debut album by Korean pianist who became a star by becoming the youngest winner of an international competition This is the debut album by Korean pianist Lim Yoon-Chang, who became the youngest ever winner of the Van Cliburn International Competition in June 2022. Her Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 3 at the time of her victory became the talk of the town, catapulting her to stardom and winning her many fans. It attracted the attention of non-classical audiences around the world. The video of that performance has now been viewed more than 12 million times, making it the most viewed performance of the work on YouTube. It has been described as "the K-Pop of classical music" (The New York Times) due to its popularity. Yoon-Chang Lim is a 19-year-old native of Shiheung, South Korea, who began playing piano at the age of 7. She won the Cleveland International Piano Competition for Young Pianists in 2018 and became the youngest winner of the Yoon-I-Sang International Music Competition in South Korea at the age of 15. She recently moved to Boston with her long-time teacher, Minsoo Song, and continues her studies at the New England Conservatory of Music.The orchestra currently fills concert halls around the world and has been invited to perform with some of the most prestigious orchestras and festivals. The album includes Chopin's "12 Exercises" Op.10 & Op.25. "For me, Chopin is a composer whose music reminds me of the past.
