Desk mates who share a single desk—and the day they both fell for the same boy... Starring Taiwan’s new generation of actors! A masterpiece of a coming-of-age film that captures the retro charm of 1990s Taipei, along with the inner conflicts and heartache from that era that everyone can relate to!!

Adapted from a screenplay that won Taiwan’s top screenwriting award, the “Outstanding Film Screenplay Award,” by director Juan Jinshen of *HighFlash: Flashpoint*, this film is brimming with the refreshing and vibrant charm that epitomizes “the quintessential Taiwanese coming-of-age film!” It explores the culture where night-school and day-school students become “desk buddies” after sharing desks; the inferiority complex and petty lies stemming from the fact that, despite attending the same school, their uniforms have different embroidered colors; and the heartache of falling for the same person as your best friend… This story—nostalgic for adults and a bit painful for today’s youth—is brought to life by numerous details that capture the reality of 1990s Taipei, including Japanese content popular in Taiwan such as *SLAM DUNK* and the TV drama *Beach Boys*, as well as songs by Mayday, who were an indie band at the time. It’s easy to see why director Giddens Ko—creator of the masterpiece *Chasing You*—speaks so highly of this coming-of-age drama, which masterfully captures the complexities of youth.

The protagonist, Peng Yun-ai (Pon Yun-ai), attends night school; Xiao Ai is played by Chen Yanfei, who won the Best New Actor Award at the 57th Golden Horse Awards for *The Silent Forest* and starred in *□ Body: Messenger from Heaven*, which streamed on Netflix this spring. Meanwhile, the full-time honor student Luo Jiamin / Minmin, is played by Shang Jieru, who was nominated for Best Actress at the 26th Taipei Film Festival for *A Nightmare Called Love*. The role of Lu Ke (Luke), the object of both their affections, is played by Qiu Yitai from *Taipei After School*.</dvd>
