Slade, the beloved "national glam rock band" that dominated the charts in the 1970s in the U.K., has added a new album to the series of splatter vinyl reissues of their original albums that started in September this year. Slade was formed in Wolverhampton in 1966 and has been active in the British music scene for almost 30 years until they went on hiatus in 1992. In 1970, Slade rode the momentum of the glam-rock movement, and with their simple, bold, pop-melodic sound and eccentric glam fashion, they had a huge impact as one of the biggest bands in Europe at the time, with three UK No. 1 albums in the 1970s. In addition to releasing three albums, the band had 17 consecutive top 20 singles in the UK from 1971 to 1976. They were also highly acclaimed as a live band. The band's first live album, "SLADE ALIVE!" was released in 1972, and was recorded live in the studio at the Command Theatre Studio in London in October 1971, when "Coz I Luv You" became the first UK No. 1 single and the band was on the upswing. The album was recorded live in the studio at the Command Theatre Studio in London in October 1971. The album was a huge hit, reaching #2 on the UK charts and becoming the band's first Top 3 album. The live album, which opens with Ten Years After's "Hear Me Calling," includes Lovin' Spoonful's "Darling Be Home Soon," Steppenwolf's "Born To Be Wild," and their hit single, "Bonehead," which has become a staple of their live show. The album also features covers of Bobby Marchand's "Get Down With It," which was a hit single for the band and has since become a staple at their live shows. Other songs on the album include "Know Who You Are" from the album "PLAY IT LOUD" and "Keep On Rocking". Their second album, "SLAYED?", which followed the release of "PLAY IT LOUD", featuring their typical pop melodies and dynamic live performance, reached No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart. This release, faithfully reproducing the colorful gatefold jacket of the original release, will be available on red and black splatter vinyl.
