William Russell (1777-1813) was a late 18th century English organist and composer who served as organist at Great Queen Street Chapel and Limehouse St. Ann's Church in London. John Kitchen, a noted contemporary organist who served as organist for the City of Edinburgh and the University of Edinburgh, will play William Russell's Voluntaries (in G major), including two "Twelve Voluntaries" published in 1804 and 1812 and an unpublished Voluntary in G major (an organ piece played at Anglican services). This is the world premiere recording of the complete set of William Russell's Voluntaries (organ pieces played at Anglican services), including the two Voluntaries published in 1812 and the unpublished Voluntary in G major.
