This practice dates back to the composer's time and is one of the central tenets of my ensemble, which creates new repertoire by arranging music not originally composed for viol.\n\nThe Armenian repertoire is similarly unrelated to historically based performances on Western instruments and techniques, especially period instruments as we know them today.In our country, the oral tradition has been replaced by the reading of printed scores, and oral practice and transmission have come to rely heavily on the reading and analysis of specific sources.
