Description:
Another addition to the Grateful Dead's anniversary series -- the Grateful Dead. The 50th anniversary project of the release of the original album also enters the 70s! GRATEFUL DEAD (SKULL & ROSES)", a masterpiece live album that expresses the Grateful Dead's wide range of musicality from psychedelic to rock 'n' roll, will be revived on a 2-CD analog set with the latest remastered material! The Grateful Dead's 50th anniversary project started in 2017. This is the seventh album in the project, which began last year with the 70's albums. This year's release is "GRATEFUL DEAD (SKULL & ROSES)," the band's second live album. As with previous 50th anniversary projects, it will be released as an analog LP with the latest remastered sound sources. GRATEFUL DEAD (SKULL & ROSES)" was released two years after the Grateful Dead's first live album "LIVE/DEAD". While the previous album "LIVE/DEAD" captured the sonic peak of the early Dead, "GRATEFUL DEAD (SKULL & ROSES)" is a masterpiece live album that expresses the wide range of musicality of the Grateful Dead, from psychedelic to rock and roll. The album includes powerful rock and roll numbers such as "Johnny B. Goode" and "Not Fade Away," classic songs from Bakersfield, California such as Merle Haggard's "Mama Tried," Janis Joplin's "Me And Bobbie McGee," John Mamas & Papas' "Me and My Uncle," and "Bertha," a song that was new at the time and has been an important part of the Dead's live show for a quarter century. Phillips' "Me and My Uncle," and other classics from Bakersfield, California, as well as "Bertha," "Playing In The Band," and "Wharf Rat," which were new songs at the time and would become important songs in the Dead's live show for the next quarter-century. and "Wharf Rat. The other 18-minute-long, psychedelic early classic, "The Other One," is also included on the full B-side of LP1, thus making this one of the Grateful Dead's official releases that captures the richness of their musicality. The 11 tracks on the album have been recently remastered from the original analog master tapes using Plangent Process Speed Correction by David Glasser. The artwork featuring Stanley Mouse & Alton Kelly's illustration of a skeleton with a crown of roses became widely recognized as one of the most iconic images of the Grateful Dead. GRATEFUL DEAD (SKULL & ROSES)" is a masterpiece album that captures the quintessential live performance of the Grateful Dead, a band with an unmatched presence in American music history. The reissue of the album, which celebrates its 50th anniversary, is now available for a deeper understanding of the album.
