Broadcast, the leading pop-psychedelia band of WARP RECORDS! The last two releases, "Spell Blanket - Collected Demos 2006-2009" and "Distant Call - Collected Demos 2000-2006" are now available! Broadcast is one of the leading pop psychedelia acts on WARP RECORDS. After gaining attention through singles released on several labels, including Stereolab's Duophonic label, Broadcast signed with WARP RECORDS in 1999 amidst a flood of offers from labels to release their albums. Initially, they were compared to the likes of Stereolab and My Bloody Valentine, but through the release of a series of original albums, their reputation grew and they established a solid position in Europe and the United States. Broadcast released their last two albums, "Spell Blanket - Collected Demos 2006-2009" and "Distant Call - Collected Demos 2000-2006". Comprised of songs and sketches gathered from the extensive archive of 4-track tapes and mini-discs by vocalist Trish Keenan, who sadly passed away in 2011, "Spell Blanket - Collected Demos 2006-2009" is the foundation for what would have been Broadcast The album is the foundation for what was to become Broadcast's fifth album, and provides an insight into the creative process that Trish and James Cargill engaged in between 2006 and 2009, following the release of Tender Buttons in 2005. Distant Call - Collected Demos 2000-2006, in contrast to Spell Blanket - Collected Demos 2006-2009, is a collection of early demos of songs from Haha Sound, Tender Buttons, and The Future Crayon. Spell Blanket - Collected Demos 2006-2009" is a collection of early demos of songs from "Haha Sound", "Tender Buttons" and "The Future Crayon". Also included are two songs, "Come Back to Me" and "Please Call to Book," discovered by James after Trish's death.The song is interspersed with Trish's responses to fans to the "Let's Write A Song" project conducted by the band in 2006--in which fans were asked to write lyrics on postcards, which were then used to write songs.
