50 years after the death of cello master Pablo Casals, the long-awaited re-release of a compilation of recordings made by Casals for the former EMI (His Master's Voice). Pablo Casals is still revered as a "god" as one of the leading cellists, conductors, music educators, and world celebrities of the 20th century. This long-awaited re-release of the 9-CD box set released by the former EMI in 2009, which compiles all of his recordings and releases for EMI, mainly from the first half of the 20th century, with additional tracks, will commemorate the 50th anniversary of his death on October 22, 2023. The box contains not only the most famous recordings of the century, including Bach's unaccompanied suites, concertos, and small works, which Casals revived as the cello's main repertoire, but also chamber works by the trio with Alfred Cortot on piano and Jacques Thibaud on violin, as well as a new album of music supervised by Casals, "Salud" from the Catalonian dances. The "Cobra" band, under the direction of Casals himself, his brother Enrique, and others, also performs the Catalan dance "Sardana" works.Changes from the previous release box include Bach's "Suite for Unaccompanied Cello" changed to a 2011 remastered source by Abbey Road Studios. Three tracks marked with * have been added using the 2023 remastered sources. All other tracks use the same remastered sound sources as when released in 2009. *Because this is an imported product, minor scratches, folds, scuffs, dents, tears, stains, crushed corners, scratches on the disc surface that do not affect playback, stains, image differences, and individual differences may be found on the product (including jacket, outer vinyl, outer box, case, and enclosures) at the time of receipt.
