In June 2024, the orchestra was approved as a full member of the Japan Orchestra Federation in recognition of its past activities.The orchestra has been contributing to the promotion and improvement of local music culture as a representative orchestra of Shizuoka Prefecture, both in name and reality, through subscription concerts, special corporate-sponsored concerts, town hall concerts, outreach to hospitals, welfare facilities for the elderly, and children's schools, as well as music appreciation classes for schools. In 2018, Mr. Ken Takaseki joined the orchestra as Music Advisor, and from 2021, as Principal Conductor, he will be trusted by the orchestra members to improve the music culture of Shizuoka Prefecture.
