Description:
Masanobu Nishigaki is well known for his performances of Bach and the classics, and following his 2015 CD "Arpeggione Sonata" Schubert, this time he has published Debussy Ravel, the greatest French composer of the twentieth century. The performance is a live recording of a recital given in July 2016 in a medieval chapel in Aspremont, near Nice, in the south of France. The small chapel, located in the center of a fortified village, is inaccessible to automobiles due to its narrow alleys, so the recording succeeds in being extremely serene despite being a live recording. All of the pieces on the recording were newly arranged by Masanobu Nishigaki. Debussy's "Island of Joy" and Ravel's "Bolero (complete version)" are the world's first solo guitar arrangements and performances. The other pieces have also succeeded in creating a different world from that of the previous arrangements.
