The long-awaited Tchaikovsky concerto by Hilary Hahn. The performance is based on Tchaikovsky's original version, rather than the Auer version with omissions and ornamentation that was common until recently. Higdon was Hilary's "History of 20th Century Music" teacher at the Curtis Institute of Music when she was 16, and is a popular composer in contemporary America.
