Description:
Moises was born in Czechoslovakia, the son of a renowned music leader. In addition to his 12 symphonies, including "Symphony No. 1," the work that launched his career, he left behind works in a wide variety of genres, including concertos, chamber music, film, radio, and dramatic music. His works are known for their improvisational inspiration, but also for their underlying European musical traditions and modern tendencies. From the first to the second movement, the dramatic motif of the opening movement develops one after another with a grandeur reminiscent of Sibelius' symphonies. The third movement is a scherzo with folkloric elements, followed by the fourth movement, and the last movement recalls the whole. 1947 "Symphony No. 4" was written and revised 10 years later, and this is a Mahler-like symphony with triumph at the end.
