Includes bonus tracks featuring recordings from their predecessor band, American Four.

The Los Angeles band Love was a mixed-race group centered around Arthur Lee that enjoys cult status. They were the first rock band signed by Elektra and an innovative group that pioneered the release of a jam session spanning an entire side of an LP; however, they never performed live outside of Los Angeles and never achieved nationwide popularity. However, their first three albums—*Love*, *DaCapo*, and *Forever Changes*—incorporate a variety of musical styles, including folk, jazz, garage, psychedelic, and soft rock, and are still highly regarded today. While they have influenced many musicians across generations, negative legends persist—such as the fact that Bobby Boseleau of the Charles Manson Family was a member, that Johnny Eccles and Ken Forsythe, who were addicted to heroin, were arrested for robbing a donut stand, and were imprisoned, as well as Arthur Lee’s alleged involvement in the death of a roadie from an overdose—such negative legends continue to circulate. Regardless of how much of this is true, it certainly speaks to the band’s mysterious allure. ~From the liner notes

■ Includes Japanese commentary (by Jimmy Masuko)
Commentary: Jimmy Masuko</all>

Tracklisting:

1.MY LITTLE RED BOOK
2.CAN'T EXPLAIN
3.A MESSAGE TO PRETTY
4.MY FLASH ON YOU
5.SOFTLY TO ME
6.NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO
7.EMOTIONS
8.YOU I'LL BE FOLLOWING
9.GAZING
10.HEY JOE
11.SIGNED D.C.
12.COLORED BALLS FALLING
13.MUSHROOM CLOUDS
14.AND MORE
15.SOUL FOOD(THE AMERICAN FOUR)(Bonus Track)
16.LUCI BAINES(THE AMERICAN FOUR)(Bonus Track)
