Commemorating the 100th anniversary of Kubelik's birth. Mozart's music is rich in style and rooted in the deep traditions of Europe. The Czech maestro Kubelík recorded nine LPs for CBS before and after his retirement from the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, where he had been the principal conductor for nearly 20 years, and they are full of masterful performances that mark the depth of the master conductor's artistic maturity, The performances perfectly balance the intellectual structure and classical objectivity of the works while singing their deepest emotions from within. Although not necessarily a Mozartian in terms of recordings, Kubelík left us an irreplaceable legacy in his later years. The earliest digital recordings were made in sessions at Munich's Herkulessaal, one of Europe's finest acoustical venues, and were 24-bit remastered from the original masters.
