Their fourth studio album, "Face to Face," was released in 1966 and can be called one of the greatest pop song collections of the 60's. It is a concept album in the broadest sense of the word, with the main songwriter Ray Davies as the main vocalist. It is also a work in which songwriter Ray Davies' cynical observations and social satirical style flourished.The album, which reached #8 on the UK Albums Chart, includes the #1 UK hit "Sunny Afternoon," which is the essence of Ray Davies' songwriting, as well as "Holiday In Waikiki," an impressive rock number with a bruising wine-anne guitar, "Fancy," with its oriental flair, and "Dandy," reminiscent of a music hall shuffle.
