Maestro Piccioni's unmistakably Mediterranean and jazzy touch on samba, bossa nova, and lounge music is accompanied by Afro-Latin-tinged percussion and vibraphone, layered with Hammond organ and gorgeous acoustic guitar, Nora Orlandi's wordy vocals make for a breezy, languid, summery song in the tradition of Italian cinema of the 1960s and 1970s. But there is no compromise in the orchestrations, mood settings, romantic highlights, or eerie, enigmatic synthesizer instrumentals.The lengthy compositions form an almost surreal, hazy stream of sound, a soundscape to the desert island that defines the film's story.
