Waldemar Bastos is a singer/songwriter representing Luzophonia who, despite his Angolan origins, has close ties with Brazilian musicians and has performed with Sico Buarque, João do Valli, and Martinho da Vila on his debut album. His style, which combines the oceanic groove of the waves and the Brazilian saudade, has been firmly inherited by the contemporary Myra Andrade and others. This is the world debut of Bastos, produced by David Byrne's LUAKA BOP. Produced by Art Lindsay, the album features keyboards by Peter Scherer, a close friend of Ambitious Lovers, and percussion by Shilo Batista, a talented Brazilian living in New York. The result is a cosmopolitan masterpiece that combines melancholy and sophistication in a simple composition.

Tracklisting:

1.
