At its premiere, the piece, coupled with its discordant music, caused such a scandal that the performance was cancelled.The Violin Concerto No. 2, composed by Bartók before his emigration to the United States, is a masterpiece that was acclaimed as one of the most important concertos of the 20th century soon after its premiere in 1939. Michael Gielen, who has a deep interest in contemporary music, performs these two works elaborately without excessive emotional involvement. The \"Mysterious Chinese Official\" is known from a 2007 performance with the Southwest German Radio Symphony Orchestra of Baden-Baden-Freiburg, but the tempo is somewhat faster here, giving a tighter impression. The second Violin Concerto No. 2 is also well known from 1990 with Christian Tetzlaff and the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and this performance is also very stable and brilliant. Kovacic, the soloist here, was born in Austria in 1943. He has been active as a contemporary musician since his youth, and after serving as principal conductor and artistic director of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra from 1996 to 1998, he was artistic director of the Leopoldinum Chamber Orchestra in Wroclaw, Poland, from January 2007 to June 2014.\n\n\n\n(Naxos Japan)\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Orfeo","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":50865320067361,"sku":"4589538819002","price":203.0,"currency_code":"SEK","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4589538819002.jpg?v=1742718769","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/en-se\/products\/4589538819002","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
