After a three-and-a-half-year tour, the band returned to their studio on a Texas farm, where the project began with Ochoa jotting down ideas inspired by a hike in his notebook. They identified spaces within each song that only vocals could fill, and the resonance of the lyrics added significant depth to the sound. This is an album that celebrates Texas—an eclectic metropolis where country, zydeco, trap rap, and avant-garde opera all converge. Like a snapshot taken during a grand journey, it is beautiful precisely because of its transience, and it speaks to the listener vividly time and time again.
