After the 2020 release of Finds You Well, his second LP on Ghostly International, Khotin-Foote found himself in the slower atmosphere of his hometown of Edmonton. His pre-Pandemic pivot to softer productions and a break from DJing had reduced his opportunities for Vancouver and club bookings overall, but his self-identified introverted nature was fine with that.
