Collier had an uncanny ability to shape compositions that were fully formed in real time. Collier says, \"This was a period of intense discovery for me. Recording the piano improvisations happened spontaneously in the studio. I played the ideas as they came to me and gave them titles later. This was a new way of creating for me at the time. I didn't know what the outcome would be, but I was immersed in the joy of experimenting to see what would happen. ......
