Eötvös's orchestral works! Péter Eötvös (1944-), one of the leading composers not only of Eastern Europe and Hungary but also of the modern era, has personally taken the baton for this collection of his own works for orchestra, with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra and the world-class trumpeter, Håkan Hardenberger! The work includes \"Conversations with Mozart,\" a commissioned work composed in 2016 to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra; \"The Eagle Soars Soundlessly,\" commissioned by the Basque National Orchestra and given its world premiere in 2012; \"The Eagle Soars Soundlessly,\" co-commissioned by four Italian orchestras and premiered in 2016; and \"The Eagle's Wings,\" commissioned by the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra and performed by the Basque National Orchestra and given its world premiere in 2012. Four works are included, including \"To the Nameless Victims,\" which was co-commissioned by four Italian orchestras and premiered in 2016. Hardenberger's sound and technique are on full display in the trumpet concerto \"Jet Stream,\" in which Karlheinz Stockhausen's son, the renowned trumpeter Markus Stockhausen, was the soloist at the premiere! This is a significant collection of Eötvösch's orchestral works that informs us of the \"present\" of his orchestral works.
