Ami Fujiwara (Piano) graduated from the Music High School attached to the Tokyo University of the Arts, and then from the Tokyo University of the Arts and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, where she won the first prize at the 3rd International Piano Competition for 20th Century Music in Orleans, France, in 1998. While in France, she was active as a performer, giving performances in various cities and appearing as a soloist and accompanist in music programs on Radio France, the national broadcaster. He participated in the Academy in Paris with David Robertson, George Benjamin, and members of the Ensemble Intercontemporain.In Japan, he has performed as a soloist with the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra (1995), the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra (1999), and the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra (2017). Currently based in Tokyo, he is active in the fields of piano solo and chamber music in various locations, and has been involved in numerous Japanese premieres. He has been involved in many Japanese premieres and appeared in Boulez in Kyoto in 2009. He is a member of Tokyo Sinfonietta and Ensemble sans-limite. He has released 8 solo CDs. Lecturer at Tokyo College of Music and Nihon University College of Art. Toshi Ichiyanagi (Composer) was born in Kobe. Studied composition under John Cage, piano under Chieko Hara and B. Webster. In 1949, when he was in high school, he won the first prize in the composition division of the Mainichi Music Competition (now the Japan Music Competition). During this period, he received the E. Coolidge Prize and the A. Grechaninov Prize. In 1961, he returned to Japan at the invitation of the Twentieth Century Music Institute, where his performances and introductions of his own works as well as new works from Europe and the U.S. have been a powerful stimulus in a variety of fields.He has been commissioned to perform works by the Vienna Moderne, Berlin Festival, BBC, Orchestre de Paris, Tonhalle Zurich, and Avanti! He has presented and produced many new works at Kanagawa Kenmin Hall, including the operas \"Momo\" (premiered in 1998 in a revised version), \"Ai no Byakuya\" (world premiere in 2006, premiered in 2009 in a revised version), and \"The Pied Piper of Hamelin\" (world premiere in 2012). He has received the Otaka Award five times, the French Order of Arts and Letters, the Mainichi Art Award, the Kyoto Music Award Grand Prize, the Suntory Music Award, the John Cage Award, the Japan Art Academy Award, the Imperial Prize, and many other awards. He has been a recipient of the Medal with Purple Ribbon and the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette, and has been a Person of Cultural Merit since 2008. He is currently President of the Japan-Finland New Music Society and General Artistic Director of Kanagawa Arts Foundation.
