In this album, the trumpet works by Stölzel and Johann Michael Fasch, the brother of Johann Friedrich, as well as the oboe concertos by Telemann and Handel and the recorder sonata by Sickhardt, are arranged and presented as brilliant works for trumpet. Thomas Rainer, born in Germany in 1969, is a veteran trumpet player who began his career at the age of 12 when he was exposed to the music of Maurice André. He is backed by Interplayi Veneziani, a Venetian modern instrument ensemble celebrating its 35th anniversary. The ensemble specializes in Vivaldi's works and is also known for its performances of contemporary and classical works.
