She studied under Chuzo Shibuya, Shinichi Fukuda, and Pavel Steidl, and was the first Japanese to win second prize at the 2002 Segovia International Guitar Competition. 2009 composer Kazuho Tsuboi dedicated \"12 New Songs for Guitar\" to her.
