Carlos is joined by Marco Pave on spoken word and MK Zulu on trumpet in an ensemble performance with Carlos on piano and Hub New Music. Carlos has been an invited composer at the Kennedy Center and was awarded the Sphinx Medal of Excellence by the Sphinx Organization in 2021. He is currently an Assistant Professor at Georgetown University and was named \"Composer to Watch in 2022\" by The Washington Post.The murder of George Floyd occurred in Minnesota in 2020 and sparked widespread protests around the world. In dedication to Mr. Floyd, Carlos has been commissioned by the Minnesota Orchestra to write a major work entitled \"brea(d)th\".
