Wojciech Bobowski (also known as Ali Ufki), born in Poland around 1610, was a versatile musician, diplomat, clergyman, interpreter, and language teacher at the Ottoman court, and his profound knowledge made him an important mediator between the Muslim Ottoman Empire and Christian Europe.
