The spotlight is on Jessica Pratt, who sings the title role of Amina. Born in Australia in 1979, this soprano in her early 30s has made a remarkable rise in recent years as a prima donna of early 19th-century Italian opera. She served as the prima donna at the Rossini Opera Festival in both 2011 and 2012. Along with Donizetti’s *Lucia*, Bellini’s *La Sonnambula* is one of Pratt’s greatest specialties. Not only is her coloratura superb, but her emotional depth in the lower register is also remarkable. According to her official website, she is scheduled to give a recital in Tokyo in June 2014. Sharva Mukelia, who plays Elvino, is a tenor from Georgia. In October 2008, he sang the role of the Duke of Mantua in Verdi’s *Rigoletto* at the New National Theatre, where he received rapturous applause for his superb high notes. The role of Elvino in *La Sonnambula* is one of his specialties; he previously sang it opposite Natalie Dussé in a U.S. tour. Giovanni Battista Parodi, who plays Count Rodolfo, is a bass born in Genoa in 1976. A graduate of La Scala’s Accademia, he was recognized by Muti and appeared at La Scala on numerous occasions. He possesses a magnificent bass voice that belies his youth. The conductor was the highly experienced Gabriele Ferro. At 74 years old at the time, he delivered a rich and fulfilling performance of Bellini’s music that truly befits a master. Bepi Morassi’s staging transforms the setting into a mountain resort overlooking the majestic Swiss Alps. While framing the story as a romantic drama among the wealthy, he skillfully blends modern opulence with the rustic charm of *La Sonnambula*.\nKing International\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"C Major","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53595568832801,"sku":"814337011390","price":48.95,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/814337011390.jpg?v=1790481707","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/en-pt\/products\/814337011390","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
