Titled \"Beethoven in Paris,\" this album is an ambitious attempt to re-examine Beethoven through the lens of \"French string players\"—specifically Jean-Louis Duport, who was deeply connected to Beethoven, and his friend Giovanni Battista Viotti.\n\n\n\nThe core of the program is Beethoven's Cello Sonata No. 1 (Sonata for Piano with Cello Obbligato). This early masterpiece is said to have been performed by Beethoven himself alongside Duport before the Prussian King.
