Jetz believes that \"death is not the end, but a transition to another phase,\" and expresses beautiful and solemn mourning and consolation in the form of a musical journey to the next life. To achieve this, he needed melodies that appealed to the heart rather than experimental writing techniques, and he himself says, \"This is the most melodious work I have written. The music is impressive for its sharp contrast between the intensity of the first half and the quietness of the second half, its expressive range, and its dark, almost minor-key sound. The soloists are two, and the orchestra is based on a two-wind formation, with soprano recorder, harp, organ, glockenspiel, vibraphone, xylophone, and a variety of other instruments.
