Composed in 1913 and published in 1914 by Durand in Paris. The work is divided into two volumes: Volume 1 (Nos. 1–12) and Volume 2 (Nos. 13–24). Volume 2 includes the “Funeral March,” which lasts over 10 minutes. In addition to influences from César Franck, Charles-Marie Widor, and the Impressionists, the pieces are characterized by delicate chromatic techniques.\n\n[Performer]\n◆Carlo Mazzone: Born in Milan in 1972, he sang in the Milan Cathedral choir from childhood. He studied musicology at the University of Pavia, Cremona Campus, graduating with top honors, and earned a diploma in organ and organ composition from the Piacenza Conservatory.
