Description:
The Complete Works of Couperin by Shinichiro Nakano is finally complete! The emotional world of these unique and diverse works, with their Rococo flirtation, French sweetness, and enigmatic moods, is presented with depth and freshness through his fluid and mature expression and occasional glimpses of playfulness. The true value of François Couperin's achievement is reflected by Shinichiro Nakano, who has been leading the world of harpsichord music for many years. <Born in Kyoto in 1964, Nakano graduated from Toho Gakuen School of Music in 1986 with a degree in performance (majoring in ancient instruments). In 1991, he performed in the Coupland Cycle at the Festival des Antiquaires in Versailles, France. In 1992, he was invited to the Berkeley Festival of Ancient Music as the youngest soloist. He has been invited to perform at the Wigmore Hall in England, the BBC Japan Season, the Leipzig Bach Festival in Germany, and in the Czech Republic. He has been invited to perform in Europe, including Germany (Leipzig Bach Festival) and the Czech Republic. A Treat for the Ears," etc., have been well-received in many places. He is also still well known for his performance of Bach's "Golteberg Variations," which he has continued for many years in Japan. He has been praised for his "sincere attempt to depict the world of each variation as faithfully as possible," "Nakano's interpretation is more persuasive in light of the legacy of his predecessors and firmly grounded in the earth," and "I look forward to watching further years of this basic interpretation being etched into the music. In 2000, he won the 38th Record Academy Award for his CD "Goltberg Variations"; in 2003, the 22nd Kyoto Prefecture Culture Award; in 2004, the Grand Prize at the Agency for Cultural Affairs Art Festival; and in 2009, the 47th Record Academy Award for "The Queen's Altar: Works of Purcell. In 2010, he published his first harpsichord instructional book in Japanese, "Let's Play the Harpsichord - A Collection of Masterpieces for Beginning Players of the Instrument of Their Dreams" (Ongaku no Tomo Sha). In July 2020, he will begin a CD recording of "The Complete Works of François Couperin" (a long-term project) at Salamanca Hall in Gifu Prefecture.
