This means that some of the tracks are narrow in whole or in part. So, we tried to unify the wide and narrow parts of the record without changing the sound quality. The narrow parts are now wide, and to the ear that is familiar with the narrow parts, it may sound as if the musical density is diminished, but the joy of hearing Furtwängler in full width is irreplaceable. The Fate on this CD is a representative performance of Furtwängler's late style, and is the most unique of all Furtwängler's Fate recordings.Certainly, there is little Achteraland, which is a specialty of the orchestra, and the dynamic range is not as great as it could be, but the wide-range widening of the orchestra gives a different kind of intensity to the way the various parts move around vividly in the large expanse of the recording. On the other hand, the Seventh is, needless to say, a masterful performance, and was originally said to be the most successful Bright Crank version, despite its somewhat old recording date.
