On the night of a red full moon, high school student Mei Ayatsuki is lured into a box by the magic of the mysterious magician Charlie. When she wakes up, she finds herself in "Toukyoku" in the Meiji era! Mei is confused, but is rescued by Mori Ogai and Hishida Haruso. They put her on a horse-drawn carriage and took her to Rokumeikan. At a glamorous ball where dignitaries gather, Mei meets historical figures such as Kyoka Izumi, Otojiro Kawakami, Hearn Koizumi, and Goro Fujita. In this world, "monsters" appear between dusk and dawn, the time of the "Oboro no Toki" (the "Hour of Oboro"). Those who can see them are called "tamayori," and Mei has this power.
