Produced by John Snyder, who has been involved in many great records with Horizon and has won Grammy and other music awards. The regular band of the time, George Cables (P), Charlie Haden (B), and Billy Higgins (Dr), participated. Five bonus tracks are included. Art Pepper was born in Gardena, California on September 1, 1925. He began playing the saxophone at the age of 12, made his professional debut at 16, and joined the Stan Kenton Orchestra at 18. After a stint in the military, he released his first leader album, \"Art Pepper Trio\" in 1953, and immediately became a star. However, he later became addicted to drugs and was arrested and imprisoned several times.After his return to the music scene, his works such as \"Modern Art\" (1956) and \"Meets the Rhythm Section\" (1957) were highly acclaimed and are considered his golden period. After his return to the music scene in 1973, he began to work energetically, winning new fans with his transformed, straightforward expression and modal style of playing.
