Description:
Thom Yorke is undergoing another creative renaissance -- I think many of us feel that way. He has always explored new sound worlds. But even if we focus on his major sound works, his output in the decade began with "The King of Limbs" (2011/Radiohead's eighth studio album), followed by "AMOK" (Atoms for Peace) in 2013, "Tomorrow's Modern Boxes" (2014), "A Moon Shaped Pool" (2016), "The King of Limbs" (2011), "The King of Limbs" (2011), "AMOK" (2013), "Tomorrow's Modern Boxes" (2014), and "A Moon Shaped Pool" (2014). (Radiohead 9 th) in 2016, and "Suspiria" (his first full-length movie soundtrack) in 2018. ANIMA" is the best presentation of the latest point in the continuum of artists who continue to move and evolve in this way. As he says, "The process of making this record came out of doing a live show," and it emerges from the audiovisual electronic/DJ set that he has developed since Amok with his now stage partner Nigel Godrich and filmmaker Tariq Bahri. The work emanates from a set that has developed and grown since Amok. Many of the songs, including (1) and (3), which were performed during HCA's appearance at Summer Sonic 2015, have been tried out at various club shows and live performances over the past few years. Considering that Radiohead was actively working on several projects at the same time, including a world tour, it is no wonder that it took more than four years to put them all together into one album. But the wait was worth it. Nigel Godrich has been collaging and reconstructing a wealth of sampled/looped material and ideas, including archival material from the past, and adding songs to the foundation. The production is contemporary and danceable, captivating the listener's ears with its dazzling beat-making, modern electronica dynamism and production. Synchronized with the pulse of the scene's forefront, the discoveries made on this album have been digested and absorbed. However, not all of the tracks are filled with the nonstop pleasure of club music that you can't help but shake your body to.The album is balanced overall by adding its own unique edges, such as the meditative abstract compositions of (4) and (9), the strange and varied beauty of the vocal processing (both Thom Yorke himself and the choir of Hugh Blunt and the London Contemporary Orchestra, who have known each other since "A Moon Shaped Pool"), and the sense of awakening/purification that suddenly arises in the arrangements. The album is balanced by its own unique edges, such as the sudden sense of awakening/purification that emerges within the arrangements. After the deep introspection of "Tomorrow's Modern Boxes," this album is a profound harmony of physicality and spirituality. During the press conference at the Venice Film Festival premiere of "Suspiria," Thom Yorke used the repetition of motifs and the hypnotic effects they produce as an example, likening studio work to the act of "creating a spell. Loops and beats based on repetition are modern spells, and singing and dancing to them is a kind of ritual. Surrounded by glowing blue screens and incessant noise, we are always "on," but in the present age, we are also drowning out and losing sight of many things.Thom Yorke continues to create spells, even if only for a moment, to break the spell and create a moment to look at the essence.
