It was an opportunity to try out whatever we felt and whatever our influences were. \"Brian and Ana met in New York City in the winter of 2020 after each had released critically acclaimed albums.But because of the pandemic, it was still unclear what the album would mean in the real world. After years of admiring each other's work online, the two finally reunited in the same city after Roxanne moved to New York. A quiet understanding developed between the two as they drove through the suburbs, listening to melancholy acoustic tunes such as Bjork's Telegram, HTRK, and Portishead. Eventually, studio experimentation led to more friendship. As the world moved on, the two toured apart, doing sporadic sessions here and there.
