Recorded live in Copenhagen from the European tour in 1971, this is a night that captures the peak of the band's approach to hard rock, which finally emerged from psychedelicism after the release of the super-problematic and masterpiece "METAMORPHOSIS" in 1970. IRON BUTTERFLY has now expanded its worldview with the addition of MIKE PINERA and LARRY "RHINO" REINHARDT in a twin-guitar style, and the band also plays the over 20-minute long jam "BUTTERFLY BLEU" and the classic "IN-A-GADDA-DA-VIDA". The rough and powerful interplay and improvisation of RON BUSHY's African-influenced groove drums, DOUG INGLE's swirling keyboards, and LEE DORMAN's supple, flowing bass lines, not to mention the twin guitars, is a perfect example of the band's unique style. The improvisation was so complete that it was hard to believe that the band had just disbanded. The final song of the show, "GOODBYE JAM," was performed by the supporting act YES.
