Her two albums on Delphian with \"The Hermes Experiment\" were named \"Editor's Choice\" by Gramophone magazine, and the release of this solo album, which offers a deeper taste of Werner's one-of-a-kind talent, is not to be missed. This ambitious album combines five of his own compositions (one of which he co-wrote with Zoë Martlew), four from Georges Aperghis' avant-garde masterpiece \"Recitation,\" and five new pieces commissioned from composers such as Nico Murie and Oliver Reese. All but \"Recitations\" are world premiere recordings.The ensemble will be joined by a stellar lineup including Lawrence Power, one of the finest violists of our time and a member of the Nash Ensemble, and Amy Herman, a bassoonist who has played principal with the Philharmonia Orchestra and English National Opera, and is also a member of the Orsino Ensemble.
