This album contains works by Andre Tchaikovsky. Of course, he is not related to Pyotr Tchaikovsky, but they share the same musical talent, and the works you will hear here are filled with an uncanny and wonderful fervor. In 1955, he won the 8th prize at the International Chopin Piano Competition and went to Brussels to study with Stéphane Askenazé. He eventually won third prize at the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition, and in 1957 gave a concert of Ravel's complete piano works in Paris.However, at the young age of 47, he became ill and died prematurely, and his fame has been largely forgotten. His works are quite exciting and avant-garde, a little ahead of the neoclassical movement. Of course, it is also virtuoso music.
