Some of his compositions reflect an enterprising attitude that incorporates more or less the idioms of the contemporary compositional world, such as neoclassicism in the postwar period and sericism in the 1960s, and sometimes there are changes, with some surprising sounds to be heard.\n\nThe album opens and closes with \"Sonatine for Trumpet\" and \"Pieces for Trumpet,\" which are architectural in form on a grand scale. In the \"Seven Chorales,\" sandwiched in between, the trumpet takes on the Protestant chorale theme and the organ the harmonic and counterpoint changes, while in the \"Nine Pieces,\" the trumpet and organ play the familiar melody.\n\nThe performance is by French trumpeter Bernard and Italian organist Mazzoletti, and was recorded at St. Paul's Protestant Church in Grand, Canton Vaud, Switzerland.The symphonic organ used for the recording is the Brondino Vegetzi Bossi organ.
