His performances of Wagner's works, beginning with Harry Kupfer's new production of \"Parsifal\" and including \"The Ring of the Nibelung,\" as well as Katharina Wagner's brilliant production of \"Fidelio\" that embodied Beethoven's spirit, made the theater's 20th anniversary season an international success. Among the many awards he has received are the 32nd Suntory Music Award in 2000, the Japan Art Academy Award in 2012, and a notable Cultural Merit Award, and he has served as a member of the Art Academy since December 2014. Since the first performance of Bruckner's \"Romantic\" in 1998, we have commercialized a number of masterpieces conducted by Iimori. This CD is a record of the Tokyo City Philharmonic Special Concert held on April 7, 2023.This is a performance of Bruckner in his last year of life, a performance that is, oddly enough, beyond human knowledge, devoid of all pretense.
