[The Art of Claudio Arrau] Claudio Arrau (1903-1991) was a Chilean pianist active mainly in the United States. To commemorate the 30th anniversary of his death, this is an encore pressing of the "The Art of Claudio Arrau" series released in 2011. Arrau recorded Schumann for nine LPs over a period of about ten years starting in 1966, and these recordings are highly acclaimed as some of the most canonical performances of the composer. In this album, too, Schumann's poetic thoughts are elegantly conveyed with rich emotion and warmth. This is a Japan-exclusive project. Recorded in Germany in March 1972 (3) and in the Netherlands in March 1974 (1, 2) (digital recording)
