Description:
This original LP was recorded in March 1953 at EMI Studios in London. Rachmaninoff's Concerto No. 2 caused a worldwide boom after it was used as the theme music for David Lean's famous film "Aibiki. At the time, the recordings conducted by Limpany and Marco were the most highly acclaimed, probably because this performance beautifully expressed Rachmaninoff's distinctive sweet romanticism.
