[Best Classical 100] This Mozart concerto is the first Sony Classical recording for the young pianist Masaru Kosuge, who is based in Europe. The two concertos are "No. 21 in C major", the second movement of which was popularized by the Swedish movie "The Burnt and the Bleak", and "No. 9 in E-flat major", which was nicknamed "Junome" because it is said that Mozart dedicated it to the French female pianist, Miss Junome, when she visited Salzburg. The two pieces are performed by Masaru Kosuge in a free-flying performance with the North German Radio Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Lawrence Foster. This is the first release in the series. Recorded on July 1, 2, and 4, 2005 at Rolf-Liebermann-Studio, Hamburg, Germany.
