Description:
[Sony Classical Masterpieces Collection 1000] These are the masterpieces of classical music that have moved the world for 100 years! From Casals to Midori Goto, Sony Music's two major classical labels, Sony Classical and RCA RED SEAL, have a wide variety of classical masterpieces, classic discs, super discs, fixed discs, lost discs, strange discs, rare discs, and treasures, including new liner notes and some world/Japan first CD releases, at an astonishing price! The series of two separate releases for 1,000 yen plus tax (1,500 yen plus tax for the 2-disc set) will continue in 2016. The session recordings were made by Hiroko Nakamura, one of Japan's leading pianists of her day, in 1990 at Japan's two major music halls in the East and West (Suntory Hall and Symphony Hall). Accompanied by Svetlanov and the Soviet National Symphony Orchestra, Nakamura took on the challenge of performing two large-scale Russian concertos with full confidence, and her bold and powerful performance brilliantly expresses the so-called "Russian pianism" of these two outstanding geniuses. The late Norio Ohga, then president of Sony, produced this concerto. ◆Time Limited Edition (until the end of March, 2018) / Liner notes / Recording dates: May 23, 1990, May 28, 1990 / Locations: Tokyo, Suntory Hall; Osaka, The Symphony Hall
